Window and door replacement

Old single-pane or failing windows let in drafts, noise and moisture. We remove the old units, repair any rot in the opening, install the new windows and seal and trim them inside and out. We replace front entry doors and sliding patio doors the same way, and repair the surrounding wall when we find water damage behind the old frame.

Siding replacement

Siding is your home's first defense against weather. We remove damaged or worn siding, check and repair the sheathing and framing behind it, install a weather-resistive barrier, and finish with new siding, trim and paint. Vinyl and fiber cement options keep maintenance low.

Built for coastal conditions

In Seaside, Marina and other coastal neighborhoods, salt air and moisture break down wood siding, window seals and metal hardware faster than inland. Fiber cement and vinyl siding resist rot better than wood, and corrosion-resistant fasteners and hardware last longer near the coast. We seal every opening against wind-driven rain.

Dry rot repair

Dry rot is decay caused by moisture trapped in wood. It shows up as soft, crumbling or discolored wood, most often at the bottom of siding, around windows and doors, and in trim and fascia. We cut out the damaged wood, find and stop the source of the water, and replace it with new material sealed against the weather, so the problem does not come back behind new paint.

Energy rules for replacement windows

In California, new and replacement windows must meet the energy efficiency requirements of the California Energy Code (Title 24, Part 6). We install windows that comply, and replacing old single-pane windows can make a home quieter and more comfortable year-round.

What window, door and siding work costs in the Salinas area

We do not quote a single price before seeing your home. Cost depends on:

  • Number and size of windows and doors, or the area of siding.
  • Material. Vinyl, fiber cement or wood siding; window and door styles.
  • Hidden damage. Dry rot or water damage found behind old siding or trim.
  • Access for upper floors.

What your estimate includes

A written, itemized estimate with scope of work, materials, pricing and timeline. No hidden fees, no surprises.

Permits

Replacing windows and doors and re-siding a home can require a building permit, especially when openings change size or the wall structure is repaired. In the City of Salinas, building permits are issued only to a licensed California contractor or the homeowner, so as a licensed contractor (CA #1090260) we can handle the application and inspections. Homes in unincorporated areas are permitted by Monterey County.

What is dry rot and how do you fix it?
